This 488-seat musical performance theater was built in the historic
section of Front Street in downtown Issaquah. This building incorporated
a mixed-use façade to retain and enhance the historic retail character
on Front Street.
As the project manager, Maria Barrientos assisted Village Theatre in land
acquisition, the hiring and managing of the architect, design team and
contractor. The program included a new 60 foot fly tower equipped with
rigging, a new sound and lighting system, new theater seating, scene shop,
dressing rooms and costume shop. In addition to this, Maria was instrumental
in obtaining tax-exempt bond financing for the theater from the State Housing
Finance Commission, which constituted 35% of the total financing for the
project.
