The 705 Weller project is located in the heart of the International District, at
the southeast corner of South Weller and 7th Avenue South. Previously the site had
three single family houses on it, and has been transformed into a mixed-use
apartment and retail building. Parking for residents will be both below grade as
well as behind the retail. This project will help to meet the continuing demand for new
housing in this neighborhood. The building’s design is distinctive with Asian
characteristics, very large windows, nine foot ceilings, and large, light-filled spaces.
barrientos has been hired to be the developer for the
project on behalf of ARDA LLC, whose members have owned the property since the
1940’s. The architect is Kubota Kato Chin.
